Pragyan Ojha Expected to Leave IPL Governing Council in BCCI AGM
The BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on September 25 in Goa where a number of key decisions regarding IPL and WPL could be taken during the meeting.

Former India spinner Pragyan Ojha is expected to leave the Indian Premier League Governing Council in the Next Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Goa. The Board of Control for Cricket in India will make some changes to IPL GC and will also form a separate Governing Council for Women’s Premier League (WPL). The inaugural season of WPL turned out to be a big hit and the BCCI are expected to make some big changes in the league as the home and away format will be introduced from the next season.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, there will be some modification in IPL GC as Ojha, a former India spinner might voluntarily step down from his position of players’ representative.

The BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on September 25 in Goa where a number of key decisions regarding IPL and WPL could be taken during the meeting.

Ojha was part of the Governing Council for the last three years while in 2022 he was also chosen to the body by the Indian Cricketers’ Association (CA).

The report further suggested that Ojha would vacate his position, which would force a fresh election by the Indian Cricket Association to nominate a new representative to the Governing Council.

The left-arm spinner retired from all forms of cricket in 2020. He represented India in all three formats of the game and played 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and six T20Is.

According to the report, The agenda for the September 25 meeting also includes the item which states, “Election and induction of 2 (two) representatives of the General Body in the Governing Council of the IPL.”

Meanwhile, Arun Singh Dhumal from the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and Avishek Dalmiya from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) are expected to retain their positions.
