Amid the ongoing talks of Hardik Pandya leaving the camp and heading back to his previous franchise, the Gujarat Titans would also like to focus on the core strength of the squad. Several reports have claimed that the management is delving into Pandya’s matter but apart from the ace all-rounder, there are several players who might be released before the think tank flies down to Dubai for the mini-auction on December 19.
The Titans have been phenomenal in the IPL since making their tournament debut in 2022. They began their journey in the tournament with a title win and missed out on lifting the trophy for the second time in a row as they were defeated by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 final.

GT are expected to retain the likes of Shubman Gill, Mohammad Shami, David Miller, Kane Williamson, Sai Sudharshan and Rahul Tewatia but some of the big names might be shown the exit doors after their poor showing last season.
The team may opt to let go of Yash Dayal, the left-arm pacer from Uttar Pradesh whose confidence was dented by Rinku Singh in the previous season. The latter hammered five sixes in an over to seal a win for KKR, launching an assault on his state teammate.
At the same time, the franchise may also take a call on veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha who is in the fag end of his career. The 39-year-old had a decent season in 2023, scoring 371 runs in 17 games averaging 23.
The other names on the retention list could be Sri Lankan skipper Dhasun Shanaka, Windies pacer Odean Smith, Joshua Little, and uncapped Indian cricketers Pradeep Sangwan, and Urvil Patel.
