'MP ke Mann Mein Modi': Shivraj Hails PM Amid BJP's Lead; Plants Sapling, Speaks on Bhopal Gas Tragedy
Madhya Pradesh Election Results indicate that the BJP crossed the majority mark of 116, while Congress is now in a distant second spot in EVM trends

Madhya Pradesh Election Results: Initial projections indicate that the BJP has secured victory in 124 out of the 230 assembly seats. The Congress, on the other hand, is trailing with 100 seats, as per early leads. CM Shivaraj Singh Chouhan gives credit to PM Modi’s poll campaign as BJP leads in Madhya Pradesh.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, “I am confident that with the blessings of the people and the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP will form government again with a full majority.”

Incumbent CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan says, “Modi ji MP ke mann mein hain aur Modi ji ke mann mein MP hai. He held public rallies here and appealed to the people and that touched people’s hearts. These trends are a result of that. Double-engine government properly implemented the schemes of the Central Government and the schemes that were formed here also touched people’s hearts. Madhya Pradesh became a family…I had said earlier too that the BJP would get a comfortable and grand majority as people’s love for us was visible everywhere.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had penned a letter directed to the residents of the state, urging them to vote for a “double-engine government” – a metaphor frequently employed by the BJP to advocate for the same political party at both the state and central levels.

The one-page letter, written in Hindi, was unveiled by state BJP leaders, headed by MP BJP president and first-time Lok Sabha member VD Sharma, in Bhopal on Thursday. Emphasizing a recurring theme from his speeches at nine public events and BJP gatherings in MP over the last six months, Modi drew comparisons between the pre-2003 era, dominated by Congress-led regimes, and the nearly two decades of BJP rule post-2003.

The state BJP’s theme song, “Modi Ke Mann Mein Basey MP, MP Ke Mann Mein Modi,”(MP is in PM’s heart, PM is in MP’s heart) has been a regular at all recent public rallies, speaks volumes about the saffron party’s strategy for going with PM’s face. Even the race for CM seems to have been left wide open by the party, by fielding seven sitting MPs (including three Union ministers) and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya as candidates in next month’s polls.

The Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Budhni, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, expresses confidence in a significant mandate for the BJP. He attributes this anticipated success to the resonance of PM Modi in the minds of the people in Madhya Pradesh. According to Chouhan, the victory is a testament to PM Modi’s leadership and the strategic planning of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He emphasizes that positive results are not instantaneous but are the outcome of continuous and improved efforts over time.

Chouhan paid tribute to the victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy on the anniversary of the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy at the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre and also planted saplings in Bhopal’s Smart Park.
