Devdutt Padikkal had a fantastic start to his career in the IPL where he started off at the Royal Challengers Bangalore for two seasons in 2020 and 2021. He scored 400+ runs in both seasons as he looked to establish himself among the best talents in Indian cricket at the time.

The opener made the switch to Rajasthan Royals where he was acquired for 7.75 crores. But the batter has not been able to continue his run of good form as he was pipped by another left-handed opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal for a spot at the top along with the English white-ball skipper, Jos Buttler.
Avesh Khan made his debut in the IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as well but did not get too many chances and was bought by Delhi Daredevils now renamed as the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2018 auctions.

His rise to prominence came during the 2021 edition where the bowler finished with a tally of 24 wickets. He since made the move to the Lucknow Supergiants for a massive price of 10 crores, where he played two seasons. He also made his debut in international cricket as well and has played 9 T20Is.
This marks the second trade made by Lucknow Supergiants. The side had previously traded the West Indies all-rounder, Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians for his price of 50 Lakhs.
Avesh Khan will retain his price tag of 10 crores while Devdutt Padikkal will also retain the price of 7.75 crores.
The deadline for the list of retained players is on November 26, 2023, when franchises will look to decide on the players they are willing to continue in the upcoming season of the IPL and plan out their bids in the auctions which take place on December 19, 2023.
