A situationship is a non-committal, undefined relationship between two individuals. A situation ship is a where two individuals get into an arrangement to be with each other as partners. They are physically and emotionally involved but don’t brand their arrangement as a relationship. There is no commitment between the two either. Pros of a situationship

1. No pressure to get married to the other party in the arrangement. A situationship does not denote any sort of commitment which is there in a relationship and saves one from the torcher to getting married in future. This way the person remains tension-free without feeling trapped.
2. Situationships give the advantage to explore more options without the worry of disloyalty to anyone. A person can explore any options and settle for the one they find connected with in future.
3. Situationship is better suited for those who have a fear of commitment. By using the term situationship they can be clear about their wants and preferences and will not keep their partner in any false hopes either.
4. Situationships are a good option for those who are not sure about the commitment or for those who want to get into extra marital affair. In other words, it is good for those who want to have a casual affair out of marriage and have no intention of divorcing their partner or getting separated from them.
5. There are people who just need a companion to spend time with without any commitment or future goals with them. this could be due to various reasons such as: there is going to be divorce proceedings taking time, family issues, they may only wish to live alone etc. Situationships can help them fulfil all their desires and will keep them away from all the commitment issues and tensions.

Cons of a situationship

1. People in situationships often become clueless about their future love life goals. They have never thought of commitment and would have no clue what next step they are supposed to take to have a better love life in future.
2. People in a situationship lack emotional security and maturity. They have never been close to the person they were with and have or will not have someone to rely on. They have no one to share an emotional bond with or to depend on whenever they need one.
3. Many people tend to face anxiety issues and other mental issues. This is because deep inside they are alone and feel lonely. No matter how much they disregard love in their life in the end they all want it.
4. Most of the people have no family members or are not in contact with them anymore. When such people get into a situationship often get into depression because of the uncontrollable fear of losing the person they are with.
5. Situationship brings in temporary happiness and permanent sadness in a person’s life. People are under the false impression that situationship will keep them happy and active but what happens is the total opposite of it. This again affects the mental and physical health of the person.
