Days after Jacqueline Fernandez moved Delhi High Court in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, her lawyer Prashant Patil has now shared details of the plea in an exclusive conversation with CNN-News18. Patil revealed that Jacqueline moved an application against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s repeated letters to her and claimed that such notes are an “attempt to outrage the modesty of a woman.”
Jacqueline’s lawyer further claimed that all accused in the case had not been treated equally and alleged malicious investigation by the officials.
On December 18, Jacqueline filed a plea in the Delhi High Court and sought a case against her by the ED to be dismissed. She argued that all allegations against her are false and added that she has been cheated by not just Sukesh but also Aditi Singh, who is also under the lens in the case.
“The petitioner is an innocent victim of Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s maliciously targeted attack. There is absolutely no indication that she had any involvement whatsoever in aiding him to launder his purportedly ill-gotten wealth. Hence she cannot be prosecuted… under the prevention of money laundering Act,” a part of her plea read as quoted by NDTV.
Jacqueline Fernandez has been making headlines in connection to Rs 200 crore extortion case for a long time now. The Bollywood actress has been accused of enjoying gifts from the alleged extortion of 200 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh. She has also been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate multiple times.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is currently lodged in Delhi’s Mandoli jail in connection to the case, was rumoured to be in a relationship with Jacqueline. However, the actress has repeatedly denied any kind of romantic relationship with Sukesh. He often writes letters to Jacqueline from the prison, addressing her as ‘my baby’ or ‘love’.
