IPL 2024: Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand Confirm Full Availability of Players, Ireland and Bangladesh State Partial Availability
The cricket boards of Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and the West Indies have expressed that their players are available fully for the money-rich T20 franchise league in India, while England, Ireland and Bangladesh have only confirmed the partial availability of their players.

The BCCI confirmed the window for the 2024 IPL between the end of March and the end of May, with the exact date yet to be announced.

The tournament dates are expected to be adjusted around the timeline of the general elections scheduled to take place in the nation in the summer of the upcoming year.

The cricket boards of Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and the West Indies have expressed that their players are available fully for the money-rich T20 franchise league in India with minor or no riders.

World Cup winners Australia said that most of their players will be available for the complete duration of the tournament, except Josh Hazlewood, who will participate in the league only from the first week of May after having played in the final of the Sheffield Shield.

However, the cricket boards of England, Ireland, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have granted only conditional approval.

The ECB stated that the availability of Englishmen at the IPL is subject to their international commitments ahead of the T20 World Cup slated to be held in the Caribbean between the 4th and 30th of June.

“ECB is prepared to make their players available for the duration of the Tournament, subject to fitness and international duty, and any periods of unavailability that players submitted on their auction applications. ECB are still in the process of finalising their schedule for the World T20 in June and if any individual players require specific management in the build-up to the World T20, Rob Key will liaise directly with the player and his franchise to make the necessary arrangements,” the cricket board said.

Cricket Ireland and Bangladesh Cricket Board have granted partial permission for their players to take part in the T20 league in India, with Irish pacer Joshua Little granted the go-ahead to take part in the event completely, while Mustafizur Rahman was permitted by the BCB to play the IPL between the 22nd of March and the 11th of May.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are slated to play a Test between the 30th of March and the 3rd of April, however, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana,  Matheesha Pathirana, and Dushmantha Chameera, who do not ply their trade in the longest format of the game, will be available for the IPL in its entirety.

Bangladesh informed that Taskin Ahmed and Mohammed Shoriful Islam, the two other players from the Bangla Tigers besides Rahman who had registered for the auction, will not be available for the 2024 campaign of the franchise league.
