New Zealand opener Devon Conway continues to lead the list of highest run-scorers in the ongoing ODI Word Cup 2023. Conway started the tournament on a high with a century against England and followed by a 32-run knock vs Netherlands on Monday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The southpaw failed to convert the start into a big score against the Dutch and was dismissed by Roelof van der Merwe. He has hit 184 runs thus far in the tournament.

Conway’s teammate Rachin Ravindra also continued his good form in the tournament with a fine half-century in Hyderabad. He has scored 174 runs in two matches and is just 10 runs behind Conway.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner became the first New Zealand spinner to grab a five-wicket haul at a Cricket World Cup as the Black Caps thumped the Netherlands by 99 runs on Monday to claim their second successive victory in the tournament. New Zealand didn’t feel the absence of captain Kane Williamson for the second game in a row as it powered to 322-7 on a slow, dry wicket, with top-order batters Will Young (70), stand-in skipper Tom Latham (53) and Rachin Ravindra (51) all shining.

The next three spots are obtained by the Proteas batters – Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock respectively. The Troika scored fine centuries against Sri Lanka in a match where few records were broken.

Meanwhile, India’s KL Rahul holds the sixth spot with his magnificent 97-run* knock against Australia on Sunday.

Rahul hit the winning six with Hardik Pandya at the other end.

“I had just taken a shower and was hoping to put my feet up for half an hour after the fielding innings, but I had to come in,” said Rahul of his unexpectedly early arrival at the crease.

“Virat said that I should play like Test cricket for a bit.”

Netherlands’ Colin Ackermann is behind KL with 86 runs in two matches. While it’s Virat Kohli who is placed at the eighth spot but he will surely look to move up in the list in the coming matches. He scored a solid 85 runs against Australia to help India rescue from a tricky situation.
