I League 2022-23: Sudeva Delhi FC and RoundGlass Punjab FC Play Out 1-1 Draw
Luka Majcen scored for RGPFC in the 79th minute but Sudeva defender Sujit Sadhu's stoppage-time strike earned the Delhi side a point at home

An injury-time goal by defender Sujit Sadhu denied RoundGlass Punjab FC of three points against Sudeva Delhi FC in the Hero I-League on Sunday. Luka Majcen scored for RGPFC in the 79th minute, in a match where chances were tough to come by. With this draw, RGPFC remain second in the table below Sreenidi Deccan by virtue of goal difference.

The first half saw very few chances created at either end of the pitch. The best chance for RGPFC came early, an Ajay Chhetri free kick was headed towards the goal but it was acrobatically saved by Sudeva keeper Priyant Singh.

The rebound fell for Majcen but his shot from close range came back off the post. Sudeva’s defence was also resilient against the attack of the away side. The hosts played on counters against a strong RGPFC defence but couldn’t create any clear-cut chances.

The second half also saw a lack of creativity from both sides with both teams unable to test their opposition goalkeepers.

The match was going towards a draw when the RGPFC coach introduced Chencho Gyleltshen in place of Juan Mera. The move turned out to be a turning point in the match as Chencho’s brilliance created the goal. He played a defence-splitting pass for Majcen who expertly finished between the legs of the Sudeva goalkeeper to score his ninth goal of the season.

After scoring, RGPFC tried to see off the game, but Sudeva attacked the RGPFC box in search of an equaliser. A corner in the last minute of injury time created panic in the RGPFC box and defender Sujit Sadhu who had defended brilliantly in the whole match finished past Kiran Kumar Limbu to equalise and deny all three points to RGPFC.
