The BJP has decided to go full throttle from January 25 to build a nationwide momentum around Ram Temple, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22 in Ayodhya.

In a meeting chaired by party president JP Nadda on Tuesday, the BJP leaders decided that they will urge and facilitate common man from every booth to visit Ayodhya and do Darshan of Lord Ram for which a 60-day drive beginning January 25 will be conducted. Though the cost of travel will be borne by individuals, BJP cadres will help them with information and ticketing.

The meeting was also attended by railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The party has instructed him to ensure smooth travel of 35 trains to and from Ayodhya. He has also been asked to ensure 430 places are connected to Ayodhya from across the map of India, sources told News 18.

The BJP intends to ensure all its booth-level walkers visit Ram Mandir.

With the current infrastructure in Ayodhya, accommodating a large number of devotees will be a task. But the party has asked its Uttar Pradesh unit to ensure as many as 50,000 devotees can visit the newly constructed Ram Mandir on January 22 and their accommodation is arranged in the holy city.

In his speech, Nadda is believed to have told the leaders to create a “Diwali-like atmosphere” across India on January 22. He is also learnt to have told the leadership to make sure that there is “no discrimination”.

This meeting was also attended by representatives of all state units besides national general secretary and a key organisation figure in Uttar Pradesh — Sunil Bansal –, two other general secretaries Vinod Tawde and Tarun Chugh.

Meanwhile, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) along with the BJP has started a nationwide drive for 15 days to “invite” people for the finale of the Ram Lalla idol consecration ceremony. On January 16, the ritual for the idol of Ram Lalla to return home will begin. The next day, the idol will be carried across Ayodhya. A mega Havan will take place before January 22, after which, Ram Lalla will be bathed. This ends the preparation stage leaving the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Lord Ram on January 22.

BJP’s Cleanliness Drive

The party will also run a massive cleanliness drive between January 14 to 22. The BJP has also advised its cadres to not carry the party flag during the visit to the Ram Temple.

At the Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and booth level, committees will be formed to facilitate the visit of people to the Ram Temple. “’Karodo logon ki aastha ka parv hai’ (it is the about the faith of crores of Indians)”, the BJP top brass has communicated to its party leaders.
