Blessings From 'Ladli Behnas', Says Shivraj Chouhan As BJP Retains Power In Madhya Pradesh
As of 2:30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead with 162 seats against a total of 230 in the state, followed by Indian National Congress (68) and Bahujan Samaj Party (1) and Bharat Adivasi Party (1)

Even as the Madhya Pradesh election results show that the current BJP government is going to retain power in the state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday sought blessings of the party’s woman workers.

As of 2:30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead with 162 seats against a total of 230 in the state, followed by Indian National Congress (68) and Bahujan Samaj Party (1) and Bharat Adivasi Party (1).

“‘MP ke Mann mein Modi hai, Modi ke mann mein MP hai’. PM’s rallies and messages touched people. Double-engine government has worked. We implemented the Centre’s policies well. From ‘Ladli Laxmi’ to ‘Ladli Behna’, schemes have worked. Amit Shah’s strategy and JP Nadda’s guidance greatly helped us,” said Shivraj Singh Chouhan today.

Chouhan launched his ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ in June to directly send Rs 1,000 every month into the bank accounts of nearly 1.3 crore women in the state. Three months ago, he reduced the cylinder price to Rs 450. He also promised that if he comes to power again, the ‘Ladli Behna’ money would be gradually hiked to Rs 3,000 a month. This did the trick.

Madhya Pradesh went to the polls on November 17 in a single-phase election, recording an impressive voter turnout of 77.82 per cent, crossing the 2018 voting percentage of 75.63 per cent.

The people voted for 2,533 candidates in 230 constituencies. There were 5.59 lakh eligible voters.
