AIFF Validates Nongdamba Naorem's Transfer to ATK Mohun Bagan After Injury Drama
AIFF ruled that Nongdamba Naorem's transfer from Kerala Blasters to ATK Mohun Bagan was valid with the player fit to play at the time of the move.

All India Football Federation (AIFF) player status committee settled the dispute over Nongdamba Naorem’s dispute from Kerala Blasters to ATK Mohun Bagan with the committee ruling it was valid pertaining to all the terms and conditions. It was ruled that Naorem was completely fit to play at the time of transfer to ATKMB. AIFF gave the verdict on the conflict post the transfer of Naorem, in which ATKMB mentioned that the player transfer was void as the player was injured and KBFC should indemnify the losses ATKMB suffered.

The dispute occurred on December 28, 2020, mentioning Kerala Blasters had unethically moved their player to ATKMB.

“We have always followed the rules and regulations that pertains to the club and our players. We would never take unethical moves regarding the team or the player transfer. The management supports and takes the responsibility of all the team members and ensures that our players are always our priority. We would like to give our best wishes to Nongdamba Naorem for his future prospectus,” said Mohammed Rafik, the Director of football for the Kerala Blasters FC.

“Kerala Blasters FC has always moved in the appropriate direction regarding their system, team members, and management both on and off the field, hence the verdict being justified. Undoubtedly, the statement discloses and proves that the club had transferred with all the criteria being fulfilled. Kerala Blasters FC strictly follows all the protocols, rules, and regulations of AIFF and FIFA in regards to their players,” the club’s press release said.
