Vicky Kaushal is currently gearing up for the release of his much-awaited movie Sam Bahadur. While everyone is eagerly waiting for the film, it has now been reported that the advance bookings for the Meghna Gulzar directorial are now open. On Tuesday, Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram handle and dropped a poster of Sam Bahadur which read, “Advance booking open now”.

Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. His career in the army spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and his military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.

Besides Vicky, Sam Bahadur also stars Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman) and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh) in key roles. It also features Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra as Sam’s love interest.

Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur will be released on December 1, 2023. This means that the film will clash at the box office with Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Animal. Recently, Vicky was speaking to The Indian Express when he expressed his opinion about the clash via a sports analogy. “When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema,” he said.

Vicky added that while one batsman scores big hits, the other scoring strategic singles while maintaining the strike is also important. When asked about which film will score this big hit, Vicky said, “The audience will decide.”
