October 21 marks the 92nd birth anniversary of the legendary star, and for many Shammi Kapoor fans, it is a day to rejoice. In his career, the actor has worked with some of the most renowned names in the industry. One such actress is Saira Banu. The two worked on superhit films like Junglee and Bluff Master. On a special occasion. Saira Banu shared a heartfelt note and reminisced about the old days with the actor.

Saira Banu shared a still from one of their films featuring her and Shammi Kapoor on her Instagram stories and wrote, “ Remembering the dashing Shammi Kapoor on his birth anniversary!” The actress narrated that her acquaintance with Shammi Kapoor started while working on Junglee in 1961 and the memories with the actor have a “special place” in her heart.

Saira Banu shared, “The Kapoor family has always been close to Dilip Sahib and me. Shammi Kapoor’s vivacity and vibrancy had the unique ability to infuse life into any gathering. His zest for life was inspiring enough to brighten up the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His craft, artistry, and legacy will be etched in all our hearts forever.” Much to the delight of Shammi Kapoor’s fans, the actress stated that she would be sharing “heartening anecdotes” about the actor in a special segment for Junglee.

Shammi Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in 1953 with the film Jeevan Jyoti. The iconic actor had earned the moniker “India’s Elvis Presley” for his immaculate career spanning more than five decades and his vibrant style of dancing.

Meanwhile, Saira Banu and Shammi Kapoor first collaborated on Junglee. Subodh Mukherjee produced and directed the film, and the entertaining music album was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan. Apart from the lead stars, the movie also starred Shashikala, Anoop Kumar, and Lalita Pawar in key roles. This was Saira Banu’s debut film. She even earned a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress for this film. The popular Hindi song Yahoo was part of this film and featured the two leads. Saira Banu and Shammi Kapoor then worked together in the 1963 film Bluffmaster which was directed by Manmohan Desai. It also starred Lalita Parwar along with Pran, Mohan Choti and others.
