Mahesh Babu's Wife Namrata Pays Tribute to Mother-in-law Indira Devi, Says ‘We Will Miss You Deeply’

Actor Mahesh Babu’s mother and wife of superstar Krishna, Indira Devi, passed away on Wednesday, September 28. The 70-year-old who suffered from a prolonged illness was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad for the last couple of weeks. Indira Devi’s last rite was performed on the day. Many superstars from the South industry including Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, Venkatesh, Adivi Sesh, Sukumar, Allu Aravind, Nagarjuna, and many more arrived at the funeral to pay their last respect. Following the funeral, Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodhkar took to social media to deliver a hearty tribute to her late mother-in-law.

Sharing a happy photograph of Indira Devi, Namrata Shirodhkar penned an emotional note in the memory of the love she received from her. Shirodhkar promised she will shower the same amount of love on her son and grandchildren as she opened up about missing her deeply. She wrote, “We will miss you deeply. You’re in my memory and all the love you gave me. I will shower on your son and your grandchildren and more. We love you, mummy. Sending you endless love and light." Fans, friends and family members have extended their heartfelt emotional tribute. Namrata Shirodhkar’s elder sister Shilpa wrote, “Rest In Peace Aunty. Will always remember you and your kindness." Nandita Mahtani commented, “So sorry for your loss," Maheep Kapoor joined to drop a folded hand emoticon alongside a red heart.

This came just hours after Indira Devi’s daughter and film producer Manjula Ghattamaneni wrote a lengthy eulogy for her mother on social media. Sharing the same photograph of Indira Devi, Manjula expressed, “You are my first Guru, my foundation, and my heart. Your love has been my protection. You are the biggest influence in my life. My mom knew only giving, giving, giving all through her life and did not ask anything for herself. There has not been a single day in our childhood when we missed her presence. She took care of all our needs in her usual selfless loving way." She concluded the message by accepting the piercing fact that they’re apart now but the film producer knows that her mother will always protect them from above.

Even, Mahesh Babu took to Instagram to share a major throwback photo of his mother from her younger days. The superstar accompanied the post with a slew of heart emojis.

Indira Devi is survived by her husband Krishna, son Mahesh Babu and three daughters Priyadarshini, Manjula, and Padmavathi. Her elder son Ramesh Babu passed away back in January owing to a liver-related illness.
