A controversy sparked in Maharashtra’s Beed after videos of two teachers allegedly indulging in sexual acts inside the premises of their institute went viral. The video, which is being widely circulated on social media has triggered sharp reactions from parents and the institute’s management.
According to a TOI report, the school authorities have filed a complaint with the Maharashtra police. In its complaint, the management said that the accused teachers, both working in the minority educational institute, were seen getting intimate inside the campus premises and reportedly shot videos of their act.
The incident came to light when a peon working with the educational institute alerted the school authorities about the matter on November 15, however, before the management could take any action, the recordings had already been widely circulated on social media.
The school management has suspended four teachers (the man and woman seen in the video and two other women teachers), the publication reported.
Apart from that two other women teachers have also opted for voluntary retirement, the management told the publication.
The police registered a complaint on December 9 against the man and others for making the video clips viral on social media and launched an investigation. The accused is currently absconding and his cell phones are switched off.
An FIR against the male teacher under the Indian Penal Code section 292 (2) (obscene material), section 294 (obscenity), section 500 (defamation) and multiple provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 has been lodged.
“Four cellphones belonging to him are switched off. We are sending search teams to Pune, where his family members stay,” the police official said.
Since the school has 23 women and 36 men working as teachers, the investigating team has appointed a special lady officer to record statements of all staffers of the school.
