Kangana Ranaut Praises Vikrant Massey And 12th Fail: 'He Might Fill Void Irrfan Khan Left'

Vikrant Massey has been basking under the success of his recently released film 12th Fail. Many celebrities praised him for his performance and joining the trend Kangana Ranaut also showered praise on him. She lauded his talent and mentioned that he has the potential to fill the void left by the late Irrfan Khan. In a recent social media post, Kangana expressed her admiration for Massey’s acting skills.

Kangana took to her Instagram stories to share her thoughts on Vikrant Massey’s performance in “12th Fail.” She wrote, “What a terrific film.. Coming from a Hindi medium myself belonging to a rural village and being a general caste student for entry tests without reservations in my school years, I was weeping through out the film, ufff never cried so much in a flight, my co passengers were stealing concerned glances at me, I am embarrassed.” In the next story she wrote, “Vidhu sir has won my heart all over again. @vikrantmassey is beyond amazing!! In his coming years he might just fill the void Irfan Khan saab left behind… salutations to your talent dear one.”

Sonu Sood also took to his X(formerly Twitter) handle and dropped pictures with Manoj Sharma. Giving a shoutout to him, the actor wrote, “So proud of you my brother @ManojSharmaIPS . Loved the film “12th Fail” which is based on your life.. @VikrantMassey you were brilliant mere bhai. @VVCFilms Vidhu sir, film makers like you keep our cinema alive.

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film has been submitted for consideration at the Oscars as an independent nomination. Vikrant recently opened up about playing the protagonist in the film and recalled a shot where he could not stop crying even after calling cut. Vikrant plays the role of Manoj Kumar Sharma in the film, who overcomes many hurdles to pass the tough UPSC exam. Speaking to ANI recently, Vikrant recalled the deep impact that the film had on him. “Even with Manoj Kumar Sharma, there were moments when Vinod sir would call a cut and I would continue weeping even after the cut was called because I just could not control myself,” he said.

12th Fail was produced on a minimal budget of Rs 20 crore. Despite a low initial response in theatres, the film managed to cross Rs 66 crore in the worldwide box office. However, the movie received overwhelming response from audiences when it was recently launched on Hotstar.
