Junior Mehmood Battling Stage Four Cancer, Johnny Lever Visits Him at His Home; Video Goes Viral

Veteran actor Junior Mehmood is battling with stage four cancer. The actor, best known for his role in films such as Kati Patang, Brahmachari, Mera Naam Joker, and Aan Milo Sajna, has been diagnosed with cancer in his liver and lungs and a tumour in his stomach. He has been seeking treatment for the same. The news of his health condition was first confirmed by his close friend, Salam Kazi. Johnny Lever also confirmed the heartbreaking news of his ill health and even shared a video of him visiting Mehmood.

Speaking with ANI, Salam said, “He was ill for 2 months and initially we thought that he might have some minor problem but after that suddenly his weight started decreasing. And when the medical reports came, it said there was cancer in the liver and lungs and a tumour in the intestine and he has also developed jaundice. So the treatment going on, but the doctors said it’s a stage four cancer.”

Soon after it was reported that he has been diagnosed with cancer, a social media handle on X shared a video of Johnny meeting Mehmood. In the photo, the ailing actor was seen in bed while Johnny held his hand. They smiled for the camera.

Junior Mehmood was a popular child actor who grew up to become a popular character-comic actor. The 67 year old star has been featured in over 200 films in various languages. Some of his best works include Shammi Kapoor starrer Brahmachari (1968), Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker (1970), Amitabh Bachchan’s Parvarish (1977), and Shashi Kapoor-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Do Aur Do Paanch (1980).
