Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan recently got married to Nupur Shikhare. The Laal Singh Chaddha actor who still shares a close bond with Ira’s mother and ex-wife Reena Dutta has once shared how their wedding cost just Rs 10. The actor had also recalled how he took a bus to the marriage registrar office making it the most ‘economical’ marriage ever.
In an old interview with Rediff, Aamir Khan had revealed, “I got married to Reena secretly through court marriage, with three witnesses. My wedding with Reena was most economical. I took Bus 211 and bought a ticket of 50 paise. I got down at Bandra station West, crossed the bridge, landed in the east and walked towards the highway. I crossed that highway and entered Griha Nirman Bhavan, where there is a marriage registrar office. So my wedding cost me less than Rs 10.”
Although, Aamir Khan continues to share an amicable bond with Reema Dutta, the actor has not shied away from admitting how the separation was traumatic for him, “Reena and I were married for 16 long years. When we split up, it was traumatic for us and our families. We tried to deal with the situation as best as we could. Reena and I did not lose love or respect for each other post our split,” the actor shared during an episode of Koffee With Karan 6.
As for wedding celebrations of Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare, latest reports states that the three-day lavish wedding festivities will commence in Udaipur on January 6. The wedding will be attended by the couple’s families. After the wedding on January 8, there will be a grand reception held in Mumbai. This reception will take place on January 13 at NMACC.
The latest reports mention that the guest list for this grand Mumbai reception includes big names such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rajkumar Hirani, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Juhi Chawla and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra among others.
