Bae Suzy Has This To Say About 'Intense' Kissing Scene With Yang Se-jong In Doona
While appearing on Netflix's Unboxing segment, the K-drama actress recalled the funny behind-the-scenes details of the intimate moment.

South Korean stars Bae Suzy and Yang Se-jong’s Netflix show Doona is every bit the romantic trope ‘she falls for him but he falls harder’ that K-drama fans were waiting for. Yang Se-jong’s youngster Lee Won-jun moves into a shared student housing in Seoul. Much to his surprise, he gets indulged in daily interaction with Bae Suzy’s unlikely neighbour, a K-pop idol who’s hiding while on a break from the spotlight. Their intense romance is what anchors the drama with bold kissing scenes involving ice cubes added as embellishments. Now, the female protagonist of the show admits shooting the ice scene was a “crazy" experience. Notably, it’s the leads’ first kissing scene in the show but a one-sided one initiated by Bae Suzy’s character.

While appearing on Netflix’s Unboxing segment, the K-drama actress recalled the funny behind-the-scenes details about the intimate moment. “The director wanted this scene to come out pretty but also tense. So, we discussed our positioning a lot. Right," Bae Suzy looked at Yang Se-jong for confirmation. The actress laughed remembering how the director tried some position himself to capture the emotions on screen. “We had numerous rehearsals to find a pretty angle and to convey their relationship," added Bae Suzy. The male lead also recalled the difficulty level for him explaining, “I had to learn back. But it also had to be pretty for the camera."

The scene in question is where Doona begins to act on her emotions to express her feelings for Won-jun after he goes on a blind date with another. “Before that, Doona used to tease him and root for him in his love life. But after knowing that he actually met a girl, it gets on her nerves and she gets jealous. So, she expresses her feelings in her own bold way. And then the ice falls," Bae Suzy explains the scene. The most difficult part for the duo was to drop the ice naturally. “It was pretty intense for a kissing scene," concluded Bae Suzy.

Directed by Lee Jeong-hyo, the show with 9 episodes in total also stars Shin Ha-young, Kim Do-wan, and Park Se-wan in supporting roles.

Doona began streaming on the OTT giant Netflix on October 20.
