Sivakarthikeyan has recently garnered attention for his latest science fiction venture, Ayalaan. While many are familiar with his journey from stand-up comedy to acting, few may know that he shared the screen with superstar Ajith before his television and film debut.
Reports confirm that Sivakarthikeyan had a cameo appearance alongside Ajith in the 2008 Tamil action comedy film Aegan, inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s Bollywood hit Main Hoon Na from 2004. Although Sivakarthikeyan’s role was limited to a single scene with Ajith, a recently surfaced photo of their on-screen interaction has set the internet abuzz.
In the photo, Sivakarthikeyan sports a white shirt and transparent spectacles and holds a stack of books, while Ajith stands before him, donning a white collared shirt and black shades. The image has quickly gone viral, generating nostalgia among fans of both actors.
Aegan boasted an impressive supporting cast, including Suman, Jayaram, Nassar, Navdeep and Piaa Bajpai. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Arjun Jena and Vijayan handling cinematography and editing, respectively.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s recent outing in Ayalaan, directed by R. Ravikumar and produced by Kotapadi J. Rajesh under KJR Studios, has received significant attention. Starring alongside Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar and others, the film has garnered praise for its visual effects, boasting over 4500 shots, a remarkable feat in Indian cinema. It emerged as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, solidifying Sivakarthikeyan’s position as a box office draw.
Currently, the actor is immersed in the shooting of his next project, tentatively titled SK 21. An action drama helmed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India and features Sai Pallavi in a prominent role alongside Sivakarthikeyan. With anticipation building for this collaboration, fans eagerly await another blockbuster from the talented actor.
Sivakarthikeyan’s journey from a cameo with Ajith in Aegan to his recent success with Ayalaan shows his versatility and growing stature in the Tamil film industry.
