When Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon 'Hit Each Other' With Their Wigs During a Catfight
Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor were rumoured to be fighting in the early 1990s.

Raveena Tandon recently clarified that she and Karisma Kapoor did not have a showdown at an airport during an outdoor shoot of their film, Aatish. However, Farah Khan once revealed that Karisma and Raveena did get into a nasty catfight during the making of their film, Aatish: Feel The Fire (1994). Farah was on the sets to choreograph a song when she allegedly saw Karisma and Raveena ‘hitting each other’ with their wigs.

Farah recalled the incident while speaking with Karan Johar during an episode of episode of Koffee With Karan in 2007. She brought up the fight after Karan asked her, “Which is the worst fight you have seen between two actresses?”

“I was once doing a song with Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, long ago, in a film called Aatish. They were both having some kind of teenage spat. They were hitting each other with their wigs,” she shared. “They were wearing these wigs with plaits and beads in it. One was hitting, the other was stamping her foot with her heel. It was quite childish. I am sure they will laugh about it now,” Farah told Karan.

Their fight continued on the sets of Andaz Apna Apna. It reached to the point where Raveena and Karisma communicated to each other via Rajkumar Santhoshi, who was directing the film. Fed up with their fight, the filmmaker, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan tied the two actresses to the pole which forced them to talk to each other.

While Raveena has previously admitted that the incident on the sets of Andaz Apna Apna is indeed true, in a recent interview she dismissed claims that she and Karisma had a tiff at an airport. “That was never a catfight. I beg to differ. There was never a catfight. There might be a discussion, there night be a ‘why are you doing this, and what is the need to do this, and let’s bridge this gap’ but there was never a catfight. It was all hyped and of course, mirch masala and everything. In those days, there was no social media. You couldn’t really reach out and how much do you really clarify?” she told Filmfare.
