Sapthami Gowda works primarily in Kannada cinema. She made her acting debut in 2020 with the film Popcorn Monkey Tiger, directed by Duniya Suri. The film was produced by K. M. Sudhir and serves as a sequel to the 2015 film Kendasampige. The film features Dhananjaya, Amrutha Iyengar, Nivedhitha, Sapthami Gowda, Sparsha Rekha and Prashanth Siddi in pivotal roles.
The actress got the limelight for her role of Leela in Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, in 2022. She is a recipient of a Filmfare Award South and two SIIMA Awards.
The film was a major commercial success and emerged as the second highest-grossing Kannada film ever, after K.G.F.: Chapter 2 in 2022.
Meanwhile, Sapthami was recently seen in the Kannada-language action drama, Yuva, directed by Santhosh Ananddram and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film, which marks the fourth collaboration of Santhosh Ananddram and Hombale Films, stars Yuva Rajkumar in his lead acting debut, while Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Gopal Krishna Deshpande, Sudharani and Kishore appear in supporting roles. Yuva is currently the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2024.
