Mumbai: Actor Randeep Hooda has bid 'goodbye' to his avatar as Sarabjit Singh for the biopic 'Sarbjit', and he found an innovative way to end his tryst with the character -- by shaving off the moustache he was flaunting for it on camera.
The actor, who had perfected the Haryanvi accent for 'Highway', has this time, caught the nuances of Punjabi dialect for his role as Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan and was sentenced to death.
"Goodbye Sarbjit. Gratitude to Omung Kumar, Vanita Omung Kumar, Sandeep Singh, Richa Chadda, Kiran Deohans, Aishwarya Rai, crew," Randeep posted on Twitter, along with a video in which he speaks in chaste Punjabi.

As he bids goodbye to the character, he uses a trimmer to shave off the beard he had maintained for the movie, which he began shooting in October. For the role, he had lost oodles of weight, leaving director Omung Kumar mighty impressed.
"Sarbjit" features Aishwarya in the role of Randeep's sister, while Richa essays his wife. The film will release on May 20.
