Watch: Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram Song Rules NBA Halftime Show

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and music composer SS Thaman’s recent hit song Kurchi Madatha Petti is making waves internationally. The track, from the film Guntur Kaaram, was played at an NBA game in Houston, USA, hosted at the Toyota Center. During halftime, a group of dancers showed their performance to the catchy tune, which left the audience entertained and captured eyeballs of Mahesh Babu fans.

The official X page of the film shared the video and highlighted the global popularity of the song. Fans of the Sarkaru Vaari Paata star were overjoyed seeing their favourite song featured during the international basketball event. The viral video featured Indian dancers of various ages grooving to the song on basketball court.

Featuring Mahesh, alongside Sreeleela and Meenkashii Chaudary, the masterpiece was created by Thaman, while Sahithi Chaganti and Sri Krishna lent their voices for the groovy track.

The NBA league match, played between Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, was telecast this morning in India and on Sunday night is the US. The official handle of Trivikram Srinivas’ movie shared the video and wrote, “Witness the Kurchi Madatha Petti mania spreading globally. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s electrifying Kurchi Madatha Petti dance lit up the Toyota Center in Houston during the NBA game halftime.”

According to Sacnilk, Guntur Kaaram was produced with an approximate budget of Rs 150 crore and managed to garner over Rs 180 crore at the global box office. The song Kurchi Madatha Petti has crossed 158 million views on YouTube since it was released three months back. The music video still delight audiences worldwide due to its catchy beats and vibrant visuals.

Directed by Srinivas, Guntur Kaaram was released on 12 January, during the Sankranthi weekend and went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year. Featuring Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in lead roles, the two stars were supported by a talented cast such as Ramya Krishnan, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Jayaram and Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Meanwhile, the NBA league match between the Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks took place at the Toyota Center, which is the home court of the Rockets. Unfortunately, the home team lost the game, bringing an end to their impressive 11-0 winning streak. On the other hand, the Dallas Mavericks secured their seventh uninterrupted victory with a final score of 125-107.
