Diljit Dosanjh enjoys a massive fan following, which is not just limited to India but across the globe. His popular Dil-Luminati tour proved that his music transcends cultural and linguistic boundaries, resonating with fans worldwide. His love and unbeatable connection with his support were recently witnessed at a live performance, where he was seen gifting shoes to a Pakistani fan. During the special meeting, he even emphasised that boundaries can’t diminish their shared love.
The singer-actor, who is currently performing across the UK for his Dil-Luminati tour, held a concert in Manchester over the weekend when the incident took place. Diljit shared a video of the moment on his Instagram handle, where he could be seen gifting a brand-new pair of shoes to a female fan on stage.
He asked her where she was from, to which the fan replied, “Pakistan.” Thanking her for her support, he further addressed the audience and said, “Hindustan, Pakistan, everything is equal for me. Punjabis have love for everyone in their hearts. These borders have been drawn by politicians, but for us, every person who speaks Punjabi and loves Punjabi is the same.”
“Those who come from my country, India, are most welcome. And those who have come from Pakistan are also most welcome,” he added. The crowd then cheered for Diljit as he performed at the concert, belting out his chartbusters in front of thousands.
During the show, Diljit also introduced his family members to the fans for the first time. As he went down to greet his fans, he was seen bowing in front of a woman and hugging her, whom he introduced as his mother and later also addressed his sister.
After wrapping up his UK tour, Diljit Dosanjh will finally head back to India for the next leg, scheduled from October to December. It will be across multiple cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru and others.
