Vidya Balan Shares Her Views On Nepotism In Bollywood: 'The Industry Belongs to No One’s Father...'
Vidya Balan broke her silence on debates surrounding nepotism in India.

Vidya Balan is eagerly preparing for the release of her new romantic comedy, Do Aur Do Pyaar. Renowned for her diverse roles, she continues to embrace unique characters. During a conversation with The Indian Express, she discussed the issue of nepotism and its influence on a career in the arts.

Vidya spoke candidly about nepotism, stating, “Nepotism or no nepotism, I am here. Kisi ki baap ki industry nahi hai, nahi toh har baap ka beta, har baap ki beti successful hote (The film industry does not belong to anyone’s father, else every star kid would be successful).”

She elaborated, “I have been happy doing my own things. There were times when I felt like, ‘Maybe if I had the protection of certain people, people would have been a bit kinder in those phases.’ But in terms of opportunities, I don’t think anybody has been able to deny me my share.”

Her upcoming film Do Aur Do Pyaar is a humorous yet insightful exploration of human relationships, focusing on themes such as compatibility and fidelity within contemporary marriages. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Illeana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in key roles. Following Neeyat in 2023, this marks Vidya’s first film for 2024.

Additionally, Vidya will appear in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, cast alongside Kartik Aaryan and Tripti Dimri. Sharing a glimpse from the first day of shooting, Vidya expressed her excitement: “Super thrilled to begin this eerie yet funny adventure of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 with the incredibly talented @kartikaaryan and @tripti_dimri, the visionary @aneesbazmee, and the driving force behind it all #BhushanKumar! Eagerly awaiting #Diwali2024.”

The trailer opens with introducing the main characters of the film. As the video proceeds further we get to see their life and its hardships. But there is a catch. The trailer is a refreshing love story. The film seems to be a perfect rom-com for the summer. Complemented by a stellar line-up of renowned artists like Lucky Ali, Armaan Malik, The Local Train, Lost Stories, and Ananya Birla, the soundtrack of the film is anticipated to be a treat for the ears.
