Vidhu Vinod Chopra Recalls 'Barging' Into A Function During 12th Fail Shoot: 'Sar Todunga Tera...'
Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed that he had a fight with a producer on another set because they were making a lot of noise.

Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film 12th Fail, featuring Vikrant Massey, is earning praise for its emotional narrative and gripping performances. Despite the limited response during its theatrical release, the movie received much-deserved recognition and attention upon its OTT release. The director recently recalled a time while shooting the film when he had to barge into a neighbouring set to complain about the noise.

During a special event to celebrate 100 days of 12th Fail in cinemas, Vidhu Vinod Chopra addressed the students of a film school and said, “I would request the students of Whistling Woods (film school) to write to Film City that the area should be used for film shoots, not functions. We were filming an emotional scene when a show started next to our set. Luckily, my reputation is quite bad. This poor boy (Vikrant) was saying… I mean, we were shooting in sync sound. Vikrant’s character was saying how he would go back to his village and suddenly there was loud dance music! Finally, I stopped the shoot, and told my whole crew to come with me.”

“Imagine, 40-50 people walked to the other set, the guards moved away. I said, ‘Jo bhi ye plug hai, nikalo isko.‘ The producer, whose identity you might learn later, told me, ‘Arey tum gunda gardi kar rahe ho’ and I shot back, ‘Main sar toduga tera!’ This is Film City, we make cinema here, ye tum log kya ghatiya kar rahe ho? I would request you guys to please draft a letter, I would sign it. Please stop this nonsense,” he added.

The film 12th Fail is based on a book by Anurag Pathak. It showcases the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty and hardship to become an IPS officer; and how his wife IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, contributed to his success. The film features Vikrant Massey as Manoj and Medha Shankr as Shraddha.
