The Telugu musical drama emerged as a feather to the Telugu entertainment industry’s cap and showcased its potential in the best way possible. The musical drama, featuring JV Somayaju as the lead, was made under the direction of K Viswanath. Even after 44 years, the film is appreciated by many. It needs to be noted that the makers of the film had approached actors Krishna Raju and Sivaji Ganesan but things did not work out and Somayaju was roped in to play the lead character in the film.
Produced under the banner of Poornodaya Art Creations by Nageswara Rao and Akasham Sriram, Sankarabharanam beautifully depicted a love story between the characters. The on-point portrayal of characters and captivating depiction should be accredited to the director K Viswanath who did a brilliant job in the film. The soulful characters of Shankara Shastri and Tulsi in the film are still poured in with much love and respect.
Not only Telugu cinema lovers but people from all over the country showered the film with much-deserved praise for the commendable storyline and direction. The shooting of the film lasted 55 to 60 days.
