Director Prasanth Varma’s first instalment of Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe ( PVCU) came in the form of the movie HanuMan. The film broke numerous records at the box office after its release. Struggling to find theatres initially, the movie was expected to face tough competition from Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and Venkatesh’s Saindhav and Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga movies. Despite being a low-starrer film, the movie emerged victorious at the box office. It collected over Rs 300 crore at the box office worldwide. The film was made on a budget of Rs 40 crore. The movie is currently streaming at Jio Cinema and Zee5. Now, after worldwide success, the makers of HanuMan have announced that the movie is set to get its third OTT platform release soon. The Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions of the film will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on April 5.
The Hindi version of the film began streaming on Jio Cinema on March 16, while the Telugu version was released on Zee5 on March 18. The movie was theatrically released on January 12. Prasanth Varma announced that the movie HanuMan will now premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. HanuMan revolved around the character of Teja Sajja, who mysteriously archives supernatural powers after attaining a strange glowing gem which was made of lord Hanuman’s blood. Vinay Rai played the role of Mega Man in the movie who is obsessed with the power of Hanuman and wants to achieve it at any cost. The movie ends with a duel between the two, in which Teja Sajja emerges victorious. The climax of the film hints at the upcoming war which will further unfold in the sequel titled Jai HanuMan. The movie received appreciation for its VFX and action scenes. Teja Sajja’s performance was appreciated by the critics and the audience.
