The highly anticipated third instalment of the beloved Welcome franchise, Welcome to the Jungle, is all prepared to bring laughter and joy to its audience. Headlined by Akshay Kumar, the film will feature several of Akshay’s former co-stars reuniting with him on screen, including Suniel Shetty. As per the latest reports, Suniel will play a don in the film.
The Hindustan Times mentioned in their report that Suniel will play a “loveable don” in the film. The report quoted a source as saying, “In fact, a magnificent and lavish introduction sequence has been planned by the makers for his character, making it a grand affair. In his career, Suniel has played some of the most iconic comedy characters, and it will be exciting to see the actor back in his comic avatar.”
As per the report, the actor has already begun shooting for Welcome 3. “Suniel is really excited to be back in the comedy zone, especially with his friends Akshay and Paresh (Rawal). He is enjoying his time on the set. It is a comedy role, but different to what has been seen in till now. He is eager to hear the feedback from the audience once they watch the character in the film,” shared the source.
With Sanjay Dutt out of the picture, the cast now includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde, with the recent additions of Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.
When the first glimpse of the film was unveiled last year, it generated quite a buzz due to its stellar star cast and distinction from the two previous films. Shreyas Talpade, who will feature in the film in a prominent role, opened up about its plot during an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha.
He told us, “It’s a pretty interesting and funny story about these guys all coming together and pulling off a kind of stunt. The brief was very clear, let’s have some madness on set and let’s make sure we entertain people. I’m looking forward to the next big schedule we’ll have in March. There are some crazy scenes with me and Tusshar together. That was one of the USPs, not only me and Tusshar but also Arshad and Sanju sir are coming together.”
Presented by Base Industries Group, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film is set for a grand theatrical release during the Christmas week on 20th December 2024.
