Suicide Squad to Budhia Singh: Six Films Jostling for Space This Friday
Get ready to experience a genre- rich movie weekend this week.

This Friday, box office is all set to explode with five releases. A week before the clash of two major Bollywood films on long Independence day weekend, no one expected bombardment of so many films with different genres and content. Action, comedy, drama, thriller, name it and this Friday you can watch it.

While Warner Bros. Suicide Squad remains the biggest release of the week, Manoj Bajpayee starrer Budhia Singh is holding the flag from Bollywood's end. DC Universe's 'all villain' tale is one of the most anticipated films of 2016, not just in foreign market but domestic as well. We've seen Hollywood biggies overthrowing Bollywood's much talked about films and this might be the reason why no Bollywood big player was keen enough to lock horns with the mighty Hollywood release.

However, Budhia Singh and The Legend of Michael Mishra has no such fear as they are small budget movies with niche audience and totally different genres. Let's take a look at the film releasing this week and why one should be excited to watch them:

Suicide Squad

One of the biggest releases by Warner Bros, this Hollywood film has lots of takers in India. Based on the story of DC comics' super villains the film has a loyal fan base all over the world and actors like Will Smith and Jared Leto just add on to the anticipation. The film's trailer has already received rave reviews and people here are anxious to watch the bad guys fight the even more evil meta-humans.

Action, plans, superhero universe, Jared Leto as Joker and of course Harley Quinn for that added dose of drama, do you need any other reason to book your tickets? Suicide Squad is definitely the major player at box office this week.

Jason Bourne

Another film from the Bourne franchise, Jason Bourne, comes to India this week. Starring Matt Damon as the CIA agent in isolation, the film brings back the thrill and suspense Bourne fans are used to. With Oscar winner Alicia Vikander joining the elaborate cast, the excitement for the film has increased. Like any other popular franchise, Bourne has its own fan base in India and they are keen to know more about their favourite agent struggling to know his identity. Everybody loves suspense and thrill and Jason Bourne promises to give both to the audience this Friday.

Budhia Singh: Born To Run

Manoj Bajpayee starrer Budhia Singh is a true story of the youngest Marathon runner in India. The film chronicles the five year old’s life who ran 48 marathon in a year. This sports biopic has been in the news for a while for all the humanitarian work done by the team for underprivileged children. Manoj Bajpayee has established himself as an actor meant for niche audience and his fans know they are in for a treat anytime he appears on screen. Backed by strong story, a national award for Best Children’s Film in 2015 and a talent like Bajpayee, the film is a much awaited watch in the corridors of content-lover audience.

The Legend Of Michael Mishra

While action-thriller-drama are front runners this week, a dose of comedy is also coming your way with The Legend Of Michael Mishra. Starring comedy veterans Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, the film revolves around the life of a goon who wants to turn good after the girl he loves ask him to mend his ways. The film has actors known for their comic timings and by the trailer it looks like an entertaining watch. If one wants a relief from a hectic week and is not really into dark intense films, this film is for them.

Chauthi Koot

A Punjabi film which took international film festivals by storm, Chauthi Koot, is all set to release this Friday. The film has been on the list of every movie lover in India, for a while. With so many awards under its belt and critics raving about the intensity of the storyline, the film doesn't really need a box office validation. Chauthi Koot is a perfect literary adaptation for those who want a heartfelt watch this week.

Fever

Another suspense-thriller releasing this week, Fever, is about a man who forgets his identity after surviving an accident. Rajeev Khandelwal is back on the big screen accompanied by Gauhar Khan and this 'Bourne series' look-alike is for the audience who like watching thrillers with a pinch of drama. While the film might not be the biggest film in terms of content or actors, Khandelwal has his own charm and fan following.
