Recently, Sonam Kapoor was brutally trolled for wearing her mangalsutra, an auspicious necklace that a groom ties around the bride's neck in an Indian wedding ceremony, as a bracelet during the promotions of her film Veere Di Wedding. Many Twitter users slammed the actress for "disrespecting" the Indian culture and the sacred institution of marriage. However, Sonam seems to be unfazed by the trolls as she says "they are faceless people with no jobs"
"I feel sorry for them because the only reason they are commenting on my posts because I am of importance and they are not. They are trying to gain importance from that," the actress was quoted as saying by IANS.
Sonam is currently basking in the success of Veere Di Wedding which has raked in Rs 10.70 crore on the first day of its release and has beaten Pad Man and Raid to become the third highest opener of 2018.
The female buddy comedy is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.
