Sona Mohapatra Slams Vishal Dadlani For Supporting Kangana Ranaut Slap: 'Sitting With Molesters Like Anu Malik'
Sona Mohapatra called out Vishal Dadlani for siding with Anu Malik and co-judging singing reality shows, despite Anu Malik being accused during the #MeToo movement.

Kangana Ranaut, now a politician, was allegedly slapped by a CISF personnel at Chandigarh airport on Thursday. Reacting to it, music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani shared his support for the CISF personnel, who assaulted Kangana, through his Instagram Stories. And now, singer Sona Mohapatra has reacted to Vishal’s tweet on X. Sona called out Vishal Dadlani for siding with Anu Malik and co-judging singing reality shows, despite Anu Malik being accused during the #MeToo movement.

Quoting the tweet, she wrote, “The ‘spine’ includes sitting next to a multiple accused serial molester like Anu Malik on the judges seat & when colleagues like me call him to stand up, speak up,help push back this toxic culture of reality shows – saying paisa kamaake desh se nikalna hai..such a gem I tell you.”

Anu Malik’s Me Too Allegations

Back in 2018, singer Shweta Pandit accused Malik of sexually harassing her when she was 15. In a long Twitter post, Pandit recounted her ordeal and called Malik a “pedophile”. She also thanked singer Sona Mohapatra for calling him out and urged others who have been exploited by him in the past, to speak up. Mohapatra accused Malik of being a “serial offender” and alleged that he would call her at odd hours. Soon after, three more women came forward to accuse the Bollywood music composer of sexual harassment. Subsequently, Anu Malik was asked to step down as judge of Indian Idol 10, only to return to the show two years later. In 2023, Anu Malik took over the judge’s chair of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, alongside Himesh Reshammiya, Neeti Mohan and host Aditya Narayan.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram Stories to criticise the industry’s silence on the incident. She wrote, “All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well…When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well.”
