After the beautiful rendition of Afreen by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan, the fourth episode of Coke Studio Pakistan Season 9 gave us another melodious track. Paar Chana De is a beautiful indie-rock folk song composed and sung by Noori and our very own singing sensation Shilpa Rao. The song has been produced by Strings.
The acclaimed singer lend her voice to the soulful track and mesmerised the listeners with her earthy voice. The song is an oral tradition passed on to the brother duo by their grandparents, it’s a song that they’ve considered as a family treasure since long.
Noori and Shilpa Rao’s vocals, independently encapsulate the listener. The song also features Noor Zehra's melodious strength on the Sagar Veena.
While we can't help but gush over the talents of Pakistan and fall in love with their coke studio every other day, this cross border transfusion of music will give our neighbours a chance to relish a beautiful Indian voice.
Music certainly have no boundaries and Rao's presence in Paar Chana De proves it.
