'Shame' On CBFC If 'Udta Punjab' Leaked By Them: Aamir
In an attempt to dissuade fans from getting access to pirated films, the star took to Twitter and urged them to watch the movie in theatres.

Ludhiana: Actor Aamir Khan today said that it reflects badly on CBFC if ‘Udta Punjab’ copy that was leaked online before its release was done by Censor Board. "I am not sure whether it was a CBFC copy. But if it's is censor copy then it's a shame on CBFC. If it's, then itreflects very badly on them. Piracy is an an issue which we all have been fighting for a very long time," Aamir has been quoted as saying.

In an attempt to dissuade fans from getting access to pirated films, the star took to Twitter and urged them to watch the movie in theatres. “Let's support free speech. Let's watch Udta Punjab only in theatres. Don't let pirates and piracy win. Love," he had tweeted.

Aamir Khan told reporters “Artistes have freedom of speech and expression that should not be curtailed. The High Court's decision on ‘Udta Punjab’ is correct."

On Wednesday afternoon, it emerged that the Abhishek Chaubey directorial -- which has been in news for the makers' run-in with the censor board -- was available on torrent sites for illegal download. However, soon the download links were "removed due to a copyright complaint", the websites read.

The film has been leaked on various torrent websites with 'for censor' written on the top left corner of the copy, sparking speculation about CBFC's alleged involvement. Aamir had also supported the "Udta Punjab" team in their fight with Central Board of Film Certification over censorship.
