Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are set to bring the much-awaited team of Deadpool and Wolverine to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the Merc with a Mouth is known for his long history of spewing profanity and violence, his character has fallen right into place alongside Hugh’s no-nonsense X-Man, Wolverine. Judging by the first few trailers, posters and spoilers, the film has all the potential to mark a major moment for the MCU. Speculations are already rife that Deadpool & Wolverine will have some incredible cameos from the X-Men universe and the Deadpool series.

However, the question still prevails about the future of Deadpool and Wolverine in the world of the Avengers.

In an interaction with Variety, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman seemingly played coy to the questions regarding their appearance in an Avengers film. “I don’t know. Yeah, we’ll see. Yeah,” the Deadpool star said, while Jackman added that he did not know how to approach the subject. Further focusing on the future of his beloved character, Reynolds revealed that he could see himself in either a solo film or as “part of an ensemble,” which directly connects to the Avengers film. “I don’t know. I could see any version of it. I can imagine a solo movie, being part of an ensemble. I can imagine that this is also the last time. I never feel anything other than that,” he said.

Directed by Shawn Levy, the film brings both Deadpool and Wolverine from different universes, reuniting on Earth to help each other against their enemies.

While the film’s storyline has been kept under wraps, the third installment has Patrick Stewart from 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Kelsey Grammer’s Beates. After a long wait, Deadpool &. Wolverine will be the longest movie in the franchise. Meanwhile, the lead actors, along with director Levy, are busy promoting the upcoming film.

One of the key highlights is the return of Logan, aka Wolverine, after his death in the 2017 film, Not just that, he would also don a comic-like costume belonging to an Adamantian-clawed superhero. High will finally don the yellow and blue outfit from the comics.
