Riteish Deshmukh Crowned As Best Style Icon At Maharashtracha Favourite Kon? Awards 2023

Riteish Deshmukh, a prominent figure in both Bollywood and the Marathi film industry, was honoured with Maharashtra’s Favourite Style Icon award at this year’s Maharashtracha Favourite Kon? Awards. This marked his third consecutive win, thanks to the unwavering support of his fans who expressed their admiration through voting. Among the notable contenders were Ankush Chaudhary, Swapnil Joshi, Siddharth Jadhav, Siddharth Chandekar, Amey Wagh and Lalit Prabhakar.

Deshmukh recently made headlines with his directorial debut in the Marathi film Ved, released in 2022. The movie swept the Maharashtracha Favourite Kon? Awards 2023, clinching seven prestigious accolades. It bagged awards for Best Film, Best Actor (Male) for Deshmukh, Best Actor (Female) for Genelia D’Souza, Best Singer (Male) for Ajay Gogavale of the musical duo Ajay-Atul, Best Singer (Female) for Shreya Ghoshal, Best Director for Deshmukh and Best Song for Sukh Kalale. Additionally, D’Souza was recognised as the Popular Face of the Year.

Ved, directed by Deshmukh, features a stellar cast including himself, Genelia D’Souza, Ashok Saraf and Jiya Shankar, among others. Produced by D’Souza under the banner of Mumbai Film Company, the film boasts music by the renowned duo Ajay-Atul, cinematography by Bhushankumar Jain and editing by Chandan Arora. Released on December 30, 2022, Ved emerged as the highest-grossing Marathi film of the year and the fourth-highest-grossing Marathi film ever, earning an impressive Rs 75 crore at the box office against a budget of Rs 15 crore.
