Imtiaz Ali and Ranbir Kapoor are all the rage currently with their respective films Amar Singh Chamkila and Animal generating quite a buzz. However, their collaboration for the 2011 film Rockstar remains one of the most talked about projects in both their filmographies. Fans of the director-actor duo often revisit anecdotes from the shooting of the film. Now, an old video of Imtiaz and Ranbir travelling with Nargis for the film’s shoot has gone viral.
In the video which has now gone viral, Imtiaz Ali called Nargis and Ranbir “my bitches”. This made Nargis roar with laughter. She said, “Hey! That’s so weird for you to say. Rockstar was a success with a budget of Rs 50 crore and global earnings of Rs 110 crore. It ranked among the highest-grossing films of the year. Notably, Rockstar made history by starting the shooting process in reverse, becoming the first Bollywood film to shoot the climax before other scenes.
This film also marked Nargis Fakhri’s acting debut. The on-screen chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri awestruck the audience, and the film’s songs gained immense popularity. The film resonated with a young urban audience featuring narrating musical drama. Rockstar won multiple awards, including recognition for Ranbir Kapoor and AR Rahman. Additionally, it marked the last film of Bollywood icon Shammi Kapoor.
Meanwhile, Nargis Fakhri will be next seen in the Telugu film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Pawan Kalyan will play the titular role in the film. Meanwhile, after basking in the success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor has started shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
