While Cooku with Comali has announced Manimegalai’s exit from season 5, rumours suggest a fellow contestant is the reason behind it. Manimegalai blamed a senior anchor who is currently serving as a cook on the show. Though Manimegalai did not mention the name of the cook, her fans were quick enough to point out that she was talking about Priyanka Deshpande, one of the leading anchors in the television space.
In a detailed note, she wrote, “No longer a part of Cook With Comali. With utmost sincerity, honesty and dedication, I always give 100 per cent of my efforts and hard work, no matter what program I engage in. Same with Cooku With Comali. Since 2019 Nov, where the journey of the stress buster show began.”
She mentioned that her self-esteem was more important than fame and money. Manimegalai reasoned that the ongoing fifth season is dominated by a “senior anchor who was supposed to be a cook on the show.”
She wrote, “This season has been completely dominated by another female anchor, especially in the anchor portion, who is supposed to be a chef of the show but she often forgets that and deliberately interrupts a lot in the anchor portions by not allowing me to do the work. Even if we ask for our rights and raise a concern, it is an insult in this season. But I will always raise my voice for what is right for me and I don’t care about others. A lot of negativity and dominance overshadows the originality of the show. This is not the same CWC that I used to love working in. So I’m not part of it anymore.”
Manimegalai mentioned that this is her 15th year on TV but she has never experienced such immature behaviour. “But I still wish the best to the person who did this to me. May God bless her with more shows and opportunities so that others don’t have to suffer. Live & let live”, she explained.
Soon after her post, fans on X and Instagram accused Priyanka Deshpande of taking advantage of her seniority to dominate others on the show. Other hosts and celebrities supported Manimegalai and wished her all the best in her future endeavours.
Cooku With Comali Season 5 is about to reach its finale. Priyanka Deshpande, Sujitha and Irfan have been selected as the finalists. One or two more contestants will be selected after the wildcard round, which will be followed by the grand finale. According to reports, Priyanka Deshpande has been declared the winner of Cooku With Comali 5. An official announcement is yet to be made.
