Pawan Kalyan is an Indian politician and actor who has served as the ninth Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since 12 June 2024. He is also doing films besides his political career. Currently, he has films like OG, Hara Hara Verra Mallu, and Ustaad Bhagat Singh in his pipeline. However, there have been films that Pawan Kalyan rejected and they went on to become big successes, propelling their lead stars to stardom.
Idiot
Director Puri Jaganandh first offered this film to hero Sumanth then it went to Pawan Kalyan. Both heroes rejected this film but Ravi Teja grabbed the opportunity and he became a popular hero with the film Idiot which was released in 2002.

This film too was rejected by Pawan Kalyan and then director Puri Jagannadh offered it to Ravi Teja and it was released in 2003.
Athadu
This film was first offered to Pawan Kalyan and he rejected then it went to Mahesh Babu. The film became a blockbuster and was released in 2005.
Pokiri
This film too was first offered to Pawan Kalyan who rejected it before it went into the hands of Mahesh Babu. The film set several records in the Telugu film industry and became a blockbuster. It was released in 2006.
Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu
For the role of Mahesh Babu, the filmmakers initially approached Pawan Kalyan, but he declined and the film passed into the hands of Mahesh Babu. The film became a super hit and was released in 2013.
Pawan Kalyan ventured into politics in 2008, spearheading the youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, called Yuvarajyam. However, due to his ill health, he took a break from his political work. He rose again in 2014 and this time, he started a new political party called the Jana Sena Party (JSP).
