Pawan Kalyan is an Indian politician and actor who has served as the ninth Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh since 12 June 2024. He is also doing films besides his political career. This film too was rejected by Pawan Kalyan and then director Puri Jagannadh offered it to Ravi Teja and it was released in 2003.

For the role of Mahesh Babu, the filmmakers initially approached Pawan Kalyan, but he declined and the film passed into the hands of Mahesh Babu. The film became a super hit and was released in 2013.
Pawan Kalyan ventured into politics in 2008, spearheading the youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, called Yuvarajyam. However, due to his ill health, he took a break from his political work. He rose again in 2014 and this time, he started a new political party called the Jana Sena Party (JSP).
