Squid Game actor Lee Byung-hun has turned all his attention towards the second season of the popular Netflix web series. The actor, who essayed the role of Front Man in the survival thriller, will be stepping into the shoes of his character again in the second installment. Earlier, rumours were doing the rounds that Lee Byung-hun had been cast in an untitled project helmed by television screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung. She is credited with films like The Last Blossom and The Beauty Inside. However, Lee Byung-hun’s agency BH Entertainment has denied the speculations adding that the actor is presently “focused” on playing his part in Squid Game 2.
According to a report by All K-pop, BH Entertainment confirmed that Lee Byung-hun is busy working on Squid Game 2. For now, the status of Noh Hee-kyung’s untitled project remains “unfounded”. Reportedly, Netflix will be releasing the second installment of Squid Game with a star-studded cast including Lee Byung-hun, Lee Jung-jae, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, and others. Lee Byung-hun portrayed the role of Jun-ho’s (Wi Ha-jun) brother who was also the initial winner of the survival game. What his character has in store for the viewers in the upcoming sequel adds to the intrigue.

There is no doubt about Lee Byung-hun’s stellar acting. At the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards held in Seoul last year, he bagged the Best Actor award for the film Concrete Utopia. Directed by Um Tae-hwa, the action-thriller released in August 2023 enjoys a 100 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating. Earlier in 2016, Lee Byung-hun added another trophy to his cabinet for the 2015 film Inside Men. Helmed by Woo Min-ho, the crime actioner revolved around a former political henchman seeking revenge after being thrown out by a ruthless politician.
