Not Afraid Of Anyone: Umapathy Srinivas On Darshan's 'Kaatera' Remarks
Responding to Darshan’s statement, Umapathy said that he gave the title for the film while also revealing how Darshan caused him a loss of Rs 10-12 crore.

Challenging Star Darshan and producer Umapathy Srinivas locked horns after the latter was allegedly found to have been involved in an attempt-to-cheat case with forged documents of the Kannada star’s properties. Reportedly, the accused in the case were allegedly linked with the producer.

Recently, on the 50-day celebration of Kaatera, Darshan took a dig at Umapathy refuting his claims that he came up with the film’s title. The Challenging Star even wondered why would the producer back out from a project like Kaatera if he was a part of the film. Now, Umapathy has come out to give it back to Darshan saying that he is not afraid of anyone while also revealing that it was him who gave the title of the film Kaatera.

Responding to Darshan’s statement, Umapathy said that he gave the title for the film. Speaking about how Darshan caused him a loss of Rs 10-12 crore, the producer said, “I don’t talk about my problems as a producer. After the release of the movie Robertt, I faced a lot of difficulty due to Drashan. I was in talks with an OTT platform to sell the film for a huge amount, but Darshan told me to release it theatrically due to which I faced a loss of Rs 10-12 crores.” Speaking further, the producer said that he is ready to fight against anyone and is not scared of anyone’s comments.

Umapathy’s statement comes after Darshan’s clarification about the title of the film Kaatera at the 50-day celebrations of the film. The actor said, “I have been busy for a while and I need to clarify a few things about Kaatera. Someone (Umapathy) has claimed that he got the story written for the film, including the title. I suggested the film’s title. I do not know why he (Umapathy) keeps meddling in such matters.” Darshan even invited directors S Mahesh Kumar and Tharun Sudhir to clear the air about the issue.

Earlier, Umapathy, who bankrolled Darshan’s Roberrt (2021) claimed that it was he who commissioned the writing of Kaatera, including the film’s title.
