As per the recent updates, the makers of Mookuthi Amman have announced the sequel to the 2020 film which will be helmed by director Sundar C. The announcement was shared on social media by dropping a poster. This has made Nayanthara’s fans quite ecstatic. The makers of Mookuthi Amman dropped a poster of the sequel to the 2020 film with a tagline- The Rise Of The Divine. The announcement also confirmed that Nayanthara will be headlining the film once again and reprising her role from the prequel. The caption read, “Welcoming the king of commercial entertainers, Director Sundar C to the divine fantasy world of MA-2, Mookuthi Amman 2.”

The announcement has caused a stir in the industry and fans are eagerly waiting for more updates about the film. Mookuthi Amman was a Tamil-language fantasy comedy film written and directed by RJ Balaji. It also marked his directorial debut. It was co-directed by N. J. Saravanan and starred Nayanthara and Balaji, with Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee and Ajay Ghosh in supporting roles. The film was about a news anchor who sets out to unmask a fake godman. The film was released on Disney+ Hotstar on 14 November 2020, during Diwali.

Now, the prequel will be backed by Dr Ishari K Ganesh, one of the well-esteemed producers of the Tamil film industry, under the banner of Vels Film International. As per reports, the film will be made on a grand scale with a big budget.
