Nawazuddin Siddiqui's New Video Looks Beyond Religion and Talks About Artistic Freedom
It isn’t correct to discriminate artistes on the basis of religion.

Art transcends languages and religions. It brings people together. It does not see religion, colour or creed. Therefore it isn’t correct to discriminate artistes on the basis of religion. Something that Nawazuddin Siddiqui tries to explain through his latest video.

The video has Nawazuddin stating that how he is 16.66 % of every religion and faith that exists in the country. But ultimately he is 100% an artiste who dons many hats, portrays characters of different sect and religion on the big screen.

The video calls for artistic freedom and urges people to look at artistes beyond religion.

The film industry has in the recent past been targeted over religion. Right to artistic freedom has often been curtailed by people in the name of religion. Recently, singer Sonu Nigam was targeted by certain religious leaders when he protested about the use of loudspeakers in mosques, temples and gurudwaras.
