Anil Kapoor continues to delight audiences with his versatile acting prowess and remains a symbol of fitness and vitality in the Indian film industry. Recently, his daughter, Sonam Kapoor, shed light on his remarkable fitness regime and how he managed to maintain his youthful appearance over the years.
Despite being 67 years old, Anil Kapoor is at the peak of his career, portraying a wide array of roles ranging from a loving father to a romantic lead. Sonam Kapoor shared insights into her father’s lifestyle at a book launch event, highlighting the secret behind his enduring fitness.
Sonam revealed, “My father is an extremist; he abstains from drinking, smoking, or any other vices.” Contrasting her father’s discipline, she mentioned her uncles, Boney and Sanjay Kapoor, noting their varying habits. While Boney Kapoor indulges in the finer things in life and enjoys occasional indulgences, Sanjay Kapoor maintains a moderate lifestyle. Despite their differences, Sonam emphasised that all the men in her family are blessed with good health and striking looks, much like her grandfather, film producer Surinder Kapoor.
Sonam attributed her father’s well-being to her mother, Sunita Kapoor, crediting her as the driving force behind his health and fitness. Describing her mother as “very health conscious,” Sonam highlighted Sunita’s pioneering efforts in establishing Mumbai’s first personal training gym years ago. She humorously added, “My dad may love to indulge at times, but my mother controls him like a quintessential Indian wife.”
Anil Kapoor’s recent film, Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand and featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi, received immense acclaim. Released on January 25, the film, produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, amassing around 331 crore at the box office.
Through Sonam’s revelations, Anil Kapoor’s dedication to health and fitness, coupled with his discipline is an inspiration to many, cementing his status as a timeless icon in the Indian film fraternity.
