Miley Cyrus Had ‘No Idea’ About Mom Tish’s Relationship ‘Drama’ With Dominic Purcell

Miley Cyrus was completely unaware of the family drama, involving her mother Tish, sister Noah and actor Dominic Purcell. The Flowers singer, who recently bagged the Record of the Year award at the 2024 GRAMMYs had “no idea” that Dominic Purcell, 54, was dating Noah Cyrus, 24, before he decided to marry their mother Tish Cyrus, 56, in August 2019. According to several reports that surfaced recently, Dominic had been romantically involved with Noah but started pursuing her mother when the relationship ended. Sources also claimed that Tish did not even provide Noah the “chance” to talk about the entire situation before getting married.

“Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all,” claimed a source as quoted by People magazine. The industry insider added that although Miley Cyrus “confronted” Tish about the “strange situation”, she loved her mother and wanted her to be happy. Earlier, a representative of Entertainment Tonight claimed that Noah was “offended” by her mother’s actions of dating her former partner Dominic Purcell but without telling her about it. Reportedly, Noah and Dominic were in an “off and on” kind of relationship, before they called it quits.

“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends-with-benefits way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up. Tish knew he had been seeing Noah. Tish never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this before they got married,” claimed a report by People. In fact, the mom of two did not even tell Miley Cyrus about her budding romance with Dominic Purcell, before taking the plunge.

Tish Cyrus and Dominic Purcell got married in a small town in Malibu, California in Miley Cyrus’ backyard, claims People. Noah Cyrus did not attend the wedding. The marriage took place a year after Tish’s former husband, American singer-songwriter Billy Ray Cyrus, filed for divorce in April 2022. They were married for 28 years, before deciding to go their separate ways.

Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus are parents to five children — daughters Brandi, 36, Miley 31, Noah, 24, and sons Trace, 35, and Braison, 29. Speaking of Noah, she announced her engagement to fashion designer Pinkus in June 2023.
