Mahira Khan Shuts Down Troll for Shaming Her Over Viral Photos with Ranbir Kapoor

It’s been over a year since photos of Mahira Khan and Ranbir Kapooor smoking over a conversation in New York leaked but the Pakistani actor is still getting trolled for it.

On Tuesday, Mahira took to Twitter to wish Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, who announced his retirement from test cricket. “Mubarak on a great innings and thank You!! I’m so glad I got to watch you play live. Love to you and the family,” she tweeted.

However, a troll commented on her tweet, “Lgta hai koi khaas kaam nahin mil rha jab say ranveer kapoor waali pictures out hueen.”

To this, Mahira simply responded, “Ranbir*”.

Though in the photos, both Mahira and Ranbir were spotted smoking, Mahira had to face a lot of backlash on social media, with several conjecturing that the two might be dating. Speculations went so overboard that both she and Ranbir had to issue statements to clarify their stance and request people not to spew hate.

Recounting how her photographs had become a "national topic and debate", she earlier said, "That was the first time in my entire career that I was caught up in a so-called controversy and it was strange because there were so many things in that. One, obviously you feel violated, you are in a personal downtime moment and someone has just photographed you.

"Two, obviously there was an uproar, because here I was, someone who is extremely loved in Pakistan, and they sort of keep me up on this pedestal you know, they treat me with a lot of love and a lot of respect. And there are certain things I didn't realise that they don't want to see me do.

"At that point yes, it was crazy honestly because it lasted for a while... It was crazy, it was ridiculous."

Mahira made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan last year in Raees.
