Mahesh Babu recently enthralled his fans with his action-packed performance in Guntur Kaaram. While the movie initially received mixed reviews from the audience, it later gained traction on OTT platform. Although the actor has a huge fan base and has worked on more than a score of films, he tends to keep his life private. In a recent interview, actor Mahesh Babu discussed his films and the importance of retaining privacy.
In an interview with India Today, he spoke how he keeps his business and personal lives separate. Mahesh Babu is one of those performers who are considered to be extremely reserved. The actor stated that all he wants is to be able to reveal his true personality to people, adding that “Balancing work and privacy in the public eye is undoubtedly a challenge. I rely on a strong support system, clear boundaries, and a focus on maintaining authenticity both on and off-screen.”
Taking a look back at his illustrious professional life, Mahesh believes three films defined his career. He claimed that the 2001 Krishna Vamsi-directed Murari, the 2006 Puri Jagannadh-directed Pokiri, and the 2015 Koratala Siva-directed Srimanthudu altered his life. He stated, “Each of these projects allowed me to explore different facets of storytelling and connect with audiences on a profound level.”
The actor will star in SS Rajamouli’s next directorial project following RRR. The story is written by Vijayendra Prasad. Mahesh Babu stated that the film’s pre-production work is now underway, and it is expected to begin filming later this year. This is the first time Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli have collaborated on a project. There are widespread speculations that the actor will play a character inspired by the Hindu mythological god Hanuman. Furthermore, speculations indicate that Indonesian actress Chelsea Islan has been cast in a key role in the film.
Sharing about how he chooses characters, Mahesh Babu said that he considers their moral aspects. He mentioned, “I believe all characters have shades of grey, so character morality can be subjective. I think our audience is now mature enough to discern between right and wrong within the context of a film.” The actor added that he gives in to the depiction once I’ve committed in principle to do the picture and always follow the director’s vision.
