Maharaj Star Junaid Khan Names 'Best Actor' In Family And It's Not Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan made his acting debut with the film Maharaj.

Aamir Khan’s eldest son, Junaid Khan, recently made his entry into the acting world and has left quite an impression. Junaid portrayed Karsandas Mulji in the Netflix film Maharaj, causing a stir with his distinctive performance that has earned him widespread acclaim. Basking in the success of his acting debut, Junaid recently opened up about his father, stating that he is not the best actor in the family. In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, the young actor was all praise for Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan’s second wife. He even revealed that he had auditioned for 7-8 films, including Laal Singh Chadha.

When asked about Kiran Rao’s reaction to his work, Junaid said, “She really liked my film. Actually, Kiran is probably the best actor in the family." While Kannan mentioned his father, who has been in the industry for over three decades, Junaid maintained his stance and continued, “No no, Kiran is definitely the best actor in the family. I had actually worked with her on the test for Laal Singh Chadha. She was playing my mother. I had done a scene with her, so I can tell you that she is by far the best actor in the family."

He also went on to share that his father definitely knows about the fact. “Whether he is going to admit to himself is not something I have discussed with him but she is definitely the best actor in the family," he added.

Junaid Khan is the son of Aamir and his first wife, Reena Dutta. He also has a sister, Ira Khan. The couple got separated in 2002, following which the actor married Kiran Rao in 2005. They divorced in 2021.

Aamir Khan’s Reaction To Son’s Debut Film

In a conversation with Moneycontrol, Junaid recently shared his father’s reaction to his debut performance in Maharaj. Stating that he seemed to have liked it, the actor said, “He liked the film, and he liked the performance as well. He didn’t really say anything specifically. But when he watches something, he watches it as an audience and watches it to enjoy. Unless you ask him something very specifically, he will not necessarily have any comment on the film."

Aamir and his family even visited Junaid on the first day of the shoot, pictures of which also went viral. The father-son duo could be seen sharing a hug as the PK actor encouraged him and interacted with the rest of the team.
